Festival Place Facade
Festival Place is a large performing arts venue in Sherwood Park, AB. Having opened in 1994, the venue’s stucco exterior was failing and needed to be replaced to prevent moisture damage. Since this work had to happen anyway, Strathcona County saw the opportunity to update Festival Place’s dated exterior.
AVID worked with Strathcona County to explore a range of exterior design concepts to modernize the facility. The selected design emphasizes the verticality of the fly tower, with large forms that evoke festival banners, the beams of spotlights, and the silhouettes of the pine trees around the building.
